FAQ

Q: How far in advance should I book my photo shoot?
A: Try to book your shoot as soon as you know when you would like to come in. Studio space is on a first come, first serve basis and can fill up quickly during the busy season.

Q: What is the best time of year to shoot our holiday cards?
A: You will want to allow enough time to select and order your pictures and card styles. Usually October and November are great months to get ready for the holiday rush. Many people also like to schedule their holiday card shoots at their summer homes in the country or at the beach.

Q: Who can be in the shoot?
A: Anyone you like. We do not limit the people (or creatures!) who can come to your photo shoot. If there is a grandparent, friend or cherished family pet that you cannot imagine leaving behind, they are more then welcome to come.

Q: What time of day is best for my shoot?
A: Try to plan your shoot around your child(ren)’s schedules (just after nap or meal time is usually best.) We may only have their attention be a brief period of time.

Q: How long after my shoot will I see my pictures online?
A: A link of your pictures will be emailed to you within 2-3 business days.

Q: How can I order pictures, frames and albums?
A: The best way to select your favorite pictures and products is to meet with a member of our production team. They can help you decide which pictures, frames and albums will fit best with your style. We recommend coming back in to see us within 2 weeks from your shoot. Appointments can be scheduled during the week, weekend or evening—whatever is most convenient for you.

Q: I can’t make it back into the studio. Can I still order pictures?
A: Yes you can! We understand that your schedule can get very busy, so we’re happy to help you with your order over the phone or via email. Feel free to call us at 212-633-0502 or email us at info@sarahmerians.com and we will get back to you shortly.

Q: Can I print my own pictures?
A: No. Our images are copyrighted and cannot be reprinted without permission. We take great pride in overseeing the finished product with our images. However, usage rights can be purchased. If you would like to learn more about this option, we can speak with you directly to discuss your individual needs.

Q: What if I need to cancel my shoot?
A: There is no cancellation fee if the shoot is canceled or rescheduled at least 48 hours in advance. There is a $100 cancellation/reschedule fee with less than 48 hours notice. All deposits are non-refundable.

Q: Do you have toys at the studio? Should we bring anything?
A: We have a wide variety of toys, props and child-sized furniture for your kids to play on and explore. Also, consider bringing a familiar blanket or toy to keep them feeling safe and happy.

Q: Where are you located?
A: 104 Fifth Avenue on the 4th floor, between 15th and 16th streets, 1 block west of Union Square, NYC.

Q: Which subway station is closest?
A: Our studio is conveniently located near the Union Square subway station (N, R, Q, W and the 4, 5, 6 and L lines). Please see the subway map for alternate routes.

Q: Where is the closest parking?
A: There is a parking lot located on Fifth Avenue between 14th and 15th streets. There is also another parking lot on 15th between Fifth and Sixth Avenue, as well as metered parking on the street.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: Yes, we accept Visa and MasterCard
